Start your day the right way and watch your life change for the better. A good morning is in my opinion is crucial to your success. It’s going to set the tone for the rest of your day. If you wake up rushed and stressed, it’s going to leave you feeling stressed all day. Instead, it’s time to get into a nice productive morning routine and start every day the right way.
My top tips
WAKE UP RIGHT
When your alarm first goes off its time to seize the day. No hitting snooze for a few extra minutes, the extra time in bed doesn’t have any benefits and hitting snooze actually makes you groggier throughout the day. Your alarm also matters. Waking up to a blaring alarm will leave you waking up feeling stressed. Instead, opt for nice gentle tones or a song which inspires you to make the most of the day. Keeping your phone out of the room while you sleep is going to seriously improve the quality of sleep you get. I keep my phone in the kitchen while I sleep, try it for a week and see for yourself.
EXERCISE
I love to start my day by taking the dog out for a walk. This is a time for me to think about the day and what I want to accomplish from it. I don’t have breakfast when I go out because I’m a serial procrastinator, if it doesn’t happen first thing, it just doesn’t happen. My best tips, Put your headphones in and listen to a motivational podcast. Your walk shouldn’t be too strenuous, just a nice gentle way to get your heart beating. On days where I know I don’t have the chance to work out later, I know I’ve at least got my body moving first thing in the morning. Then I can look forward to coming home and having my breakfast.
PREPARE THE NIGHT BEFORE
Getting prepared the night before saves the morning scramble to find something to wear. Lay out your workout clothes and also your day time look. I like to think about what we will be having for breakfast and if it’s something that needs to be prepared in advance I do that also.
YOUR ROUTINE IS KEY
If you get to bed early not only will you ensure you’re getting in crucial detoxification time but you’ll also get your body in to a regular sleep routine making it easier to wake up in the morning. I make sure that I’m asleep by 10pm. I do this by having a good night time routine.
COFFEE
Ahhh, the good stuff! ☕️ Who doesn’t love a nice cuppa coffee? It makes me very happy! If you aren’t a big fan of coffee, opt for a delicious green tea. Or even an iced matcha latte! Both are great options and a great way to start your day!
