Setting goals is fun and exciting. When it comes to setting goals, the skies the limit. Grab a paper and pen and write down your goals. We like to set small, medium and long term goals. The short term ones are small things which can be achieved in a short period of time and the long term goals, much larger. But the short term goals are all stepping stones to the long term goals. Its important to have goals, this gives you purpose and something to aim for, to get you out of bed in the morning. Reaching your goals isn’t as simple as setting them, this is where the discipline comes into play. So heres our top 5 tips to help you reach your goals.
Know Your ‘Why’
The first thing you need to do once you’ve set your goals is to resonate them. Why do you want to achieve that? It needs to be a strong, solid why because without one, when things get tough it’s what’s going to drive you and motivate you to keep pushing through! Know your why and keep it in the forefront of your mind each time you feel like quitting.
Visualise Your Success
Visualisation is a very important tool in reaching your goals, visualisation is used by many athletes before games. If you can’t see yourself achieving your goals, how are you every going to reach them? Visualise your success every morning when you wake up and every night before you go to bed to help push you closer to your goals.
Write Down Your Goals
If you want success, Write down your goals takes them from being just an idea in your head to something you are going after, it makes them real and also keeps you accountable towards achieving them. You should also tell your close friends and family your goals, this will help motivate you because every time you see those people they will be asking you about your goals. Keeping a journal is also a great idea, you can see what you’ve been doing each day to propel you towards your goals and also if you take a step back, you can see why.
Start A Pinterest Board
Having an inspiration board helps you see what you want. The great thing about pinterest too is that you can set your board to private. When you’re feeling low on motivation, look at your vision board to relight that fire in your belly.
Plan Ahead
Meal prep is a great tool to keep you on track, if you have prepared healthy snacks and meals waiting, you’ll be less likely to reach for the unhealthy food. Another thing you can do is to schedule in gym sessions, classes, hikes etc, then lay out your clothes for however many days you’re working out that week. This means that you have 0 excuses! And lastly prepare your kitchen, what we mean by this is, if you have junk in, you’ll eat junk. If you don’t have unhealthy foods in your fridge or cupboards then you’re less likely to eat it, meaning when you eat out, you can have a little of what you fancy because you’ve eaten clean wholesome nourishing foods all week – remember balance is key!
